ANIMAL FEED BANK & CARE GUIDELINES
Requirements for eligibility for the H.O.R.S.E. Inc Feed Bank Program Eligibility for Feed Bank
assistance will be evaluated on a case-by-case analysis of need, including, but not restricted to the
items below. There are limited funds for this program and we reserve the right to refuse any
application due to lack of funds or non qualification.
• Applicant must be a resident of Florida.
• Applicant's horses must be personal horses.
• A maximum of two horses may be fed.
• Income before or during time of crisis should be at or below $25,000.00 annual.
• Applicant must show financial need due to recent loss of employment,
financial hardship or medical issue.
• Must have a horse-safe facility to maintain your horse.
• Proof of Ownership, Veterinary record and recent pictures of horse’s front, side shots and any
other animals help is being requested for.
Total number of horses per family program can help feed 2.
Total number of dogs 2 total number of cats 2 per family.
Total length of time program can help is up to 90 days. Program will reevaluate situation
every 30 days to see if it qualifies for renewal.
No cash money will be given to any owner only feed orders called in to nearest feed store
for amount of feed required for animals.
Feed will be of good grade quality but not over priced or specialty feeds.
Limit one fifty pound bag of horse feed per full sized horse per week, one fifty pound bag
of feed for Mini horse per month.
Hay will only be Coastal hay and no more than 3 bales per week per horse.
Horse will receive one Hoof trimming in a 90 day period.
Horse will receive one worming in a 90 day period.
